1 Peter 4:1-11

One snowy afternoon, I saw a husky playing. He jumped and rolled and bounded through the white piles, tail wagging happily. One couldn’t see this pup and not see that this was a snow dog, for sure! I couldn’t help but wonder, does this dog sense that he was made to pull sleds across the frozen tundra?

I know that dog has a pretty great life, but that moment did make me wonder, do we sense why we were created like that dog does? When we are in a situation that sets off our giftings and sparks joy in our souls, do we know that we were made for more?

Our Father is a good Father who has lavishly blessed us with good gifts. We can live a comfortable life, loved by those around us, cared for, and happy. But like a southern husky, we’ll never experience the fulfillment of being a sled dog if we don’t step into the giftings God has given us.

Let’s look for what sets off our created nature so that we can serve God and others. There is no joy quite like living into who God made you to be.
