All Or Nothing
February 19th, 2025
Galatians 6:1-10
The word translated “all” is the Greek word pas and occurs more than a thousand times in the New Testament. It can be translated “all, everything, everyone, whole, or always.” There is no getting around it: We are to do good to all people.
“All” can be a wonderful thing: I’ve paid all the bills and have money left over. I’ve completed all my goals. I’ve finished all the laundry. “All” can be a lot, too. I’m carrying all my family’s burdens right now. I’ve used all my resources and still haven’t solved the problem. I’ve got all my chores to finish in one day. “All” can be overwhelming, scary, or just plain hard.
Now imagine what God means by doing good to all people. Has God left anyone out of that description of “all”? I don’t think so. In fact, it is terribly interesting that there is a hint that this “all” especially includes other Christians (sometimes we may feel that they are the hardest to do good to).
This week, ask God to show you just who the “all” is in your life, and do good.
