Divine Intercessor

Isaiah 53:9-12       

I imagine being a telephone operator would have been a rather stressful job. One would have had to listen carefully to callers and think quickly about what connection to make in order to make successful calls happen. In a sense, operators were intercessors for their customers, mediators meeting their communication needs.

Our Savior wasn’t the most popular person in town. He was considered a troublemaker even though He never committed a crime. Every word He spoke was criticized although He spoke nothing but the Father’s truth. Jesus’ every move was watched by those in authority even though all He ever did was what the Father asked of Him. His motives were questioned even though there was nothing but unconditional love in His heart.

Yet, people continued to seek Jesus out on a daily basis, looking to have their needs met in a way that only our Savior could do. Jesus interceded to the Father for others, all the way to the cross. He was truly a suffering servant, willing to give all so that we could benefit eternally.
