Follow The Leader

Matthew 16:21-28
One of the all-time favorite children’s games will always be “Follow the Leader.” Every children’s ministry leader has played this game at some point: The leader chooses where to go and the children follow. It doesn’t take long, however, until one by one, the children find something else to follow.
As Christians, we want to be like Christ. If we are honest, however, we would have to admit that there are many times when we get sidetracked with our own agendas. We are easily distracted by things that are not on the path on which Christ is leading us.
At the end of the day, every single decision we make comes down to whom we will follow. We have the choice to follow our own desires or to pick up our cross and follow Christ Jesus.
Stop for a few moments and reflect. What are your dreams? What are your plans? Where are you spending your time, energy, and resources? Are you making your own choices and asking God to bless them after the fact? Ask God to reveal any areas of your life that need to be realigned with Him.
