Whole Self Not on Display

Matthew 6:1-6

A Christian worldview is to be integrated into every area of life—including our public and private lives. For some, this is easier than for others, but we are all called to be faithful. That faithfulness looks like Christ, who humbled himself (Philippians 2:6-11).

Holistic faith is based on the greatness of God. He is the Lord of all we do and all we are. The spiritual disciplines are integrated into our total life. Our lives are not compartmentalized—who we are outside is who we are inside. God is in us and in all our activities. He is with us wherever we serve. We participate by living out of the constant presence of God. We live under the authority of God as revealed in the Scriptures.

We play a foolish game when we try to transform the gospel to fit our lifestyles rather than allow the gospel to transform our lives. Let us aim for consistency in all we do, say, and think. We offer our best for the glory of God.
