Isaiah 52:1-7
God calls us from ourselves so we can serve His purposes. The holiness way is not curved in on itself but is curved outward on others. God can rescue us from ourselves. Holy people empty themselves of themselves to answer God’s call. This gives our work meaning and purpose. Jesus humbled himself. He was interested in redeeming humankind—not toys, titles, or trinkets.
In an interview with an ordination candidate, I asked the question, “Do you preach holiness? Do your people understand holiness?” He strongly affirmed, “Yes.” He further added that when a problem arises, the people come together, identify the problem, and together, in love, seek the solution.
Holy people empty themselves of themselves to serve God’s purposes.
Allow God to cleanse your heart and empty yourself in order for Christ to be center of all you are and do. In doing so, your life and actions are a reflection of the holiness of our Lord and Savior.
