Resurrection People

March 24th, 2024

Colossians 3:12-17

In most western cultures, Sundays may be first on the calendar, but Mondays are treated as the first day of the week. Not so with resurrection people. We know that the first day of the week is Sunday. When churches meet on Sundays, the day of the resurrection, they begin the week in worship and prayer.

People of the resurrection have a different way of telling time, just as we have a different way of inhabiting the world. We “forgive one another” (v. 13). And “over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity” (v. 14).

These things can be difficult if we forget who we are. Jesus our Lord has freely forgiven us, so we can embody these virtues without lack. We are people of the resurrection who live knowing death is defeated. It takes incredible confidence and courage to be a compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, patient, forgiving, and loving person. Allow Christ to fill your life with His grace, love, and peace today.
