Unified

March 17th, 2024

John 17:20-26

Weddings have historically included a moment in the ceremony to symbolize the two becoming one. Tradition used to dictate that this was done through candle lighting, but the purpose can also be accomplished through other methods, such as using colored sand. Three colors of sand (representing Christ, the bride, and the groom) are poured into a container and then stirred simultaneously by the couple.

Just like marriages work best when the couple operates as one flesh, so does the body of Christ. When we are unified together for one divine purpose, the kingdom flourishes. It is God’s desire that His church love one another, worshiping Him as one in spirit and in truth.

In order to do that, the body of believers must be in the same book! God’s Word is meant to be read and reread. We need to pray for and encourage one another, not bring each other down.

Make it your mission to do your part to build up the kingdom of God by looking for ways to create unity within your local body of believers.
