Patience

2 Peter 3:1-10
Patience is a virtue . . . for a reason. Patience does not come easy to most (if not all) of us.
Peter begins chapter 3 calling the church to “recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles” (v. 2). Peter directs them to remember as he reminds them of what they have already heard from the prophets and apostles. Why? Because there will come a time when those around the church who don’t believe will live for themselves, ignoring the fact that God is Creator of all things and is at the heart of all things. It will likely seem overwhelming. Believers possibly grow weary of waiting for the fullness of the kingdom.
God is patient with us. His desire is that no one should perish, but that everyone will repent and have a relationship with Him. God’s love for the world overwhelms any obstacle. Join God in His patience as the kingdom works toward the repentance of all.
