James 4:4-10

We have a Standard Poodle puppy: 50 pounds of pure puppy energy. One of the lessons we learned early as Rosie’s people is just how good she is at climbing. Yes. Climbing. Never before have I had a dog that could climb like Rosie. Wanting to give her some modified freedom while we were away from home, we put up a tall baby gate in a doorway, making a sort of short door. When we got home, Rosie greeted us at the front door, proud of her ability to climb over the baby gate. When you have such a pet, you have to carefully consider what kind, and how tall, a fence you put up to keep them safely in their yard.

James clearly shares with us that there is no fence-sitting in the kingdom of God. You are either on one side of the fence or the other. You are either living fully in the kingdom, or you are not. John Wesley stated that there is no such thing as “half a Christian.” You either are or you are not.

Pick one side of the fence to be on and live fully in the kingdom.
