Luke 12:13-21
The early days of the pandemic are not so far behind us. Remember the fear? Remember the shelves stripped bare of food and cleaning supplies? A cashier in a check-out line commented on the large amounts of soap people were buying, asking, “Did people not wash their hands at all before this?”
People were scared, but their actions of taking more than they needed was hurting others who couldn’t find anything left on the shelves to take care of themselves.
It begs us to ask some questions: Are we trying to create security by our own means? Do we take whatever we think makes us feel safe and secure without thinking about God or others?
Spiritually speaking, what we have comes from God. We are called to be generous to others, both in possessions and our faith. We are not to be so focused on ourselves that we fail to be aware of other’s needs around us.
Find the opportunity to live out your faith and share the gift of hope that you have. Be generous in all things in faith and deed!
