Whole-Hearted Devotion

1 Peter 1:13-20
We are all actively conforming to something or someone every second of every day. The question is, are we conforming to sinful life apart from God, or to the perfect, holy Lamb who existed before the creation of the world?
Just as obedient children follow in their parents’ footsteps, so God calls His followers to imitate His holiness in character, thought, action, and desire. Every aspect of a believer’s life must be set apart for God’s purposes and not his or her own; we cannot experience the fullness of our new life in Christ if we’re not wholly and completely His.
We must be entirely alert and focused in our devotion to the Lord. Otherwise, we’ll be blown and tossed by the wind, swayed easily to do our own will or to slip back into the empty ways of our pasts.
Remember today that you have been redeemed by the precious blood of Christ and invited into holy life with Him!
