God Makes Us Worthy

2 Thessalonians 1:5-12

She said, “I’m not worth anything to anyone!”

I replied, “Wait, what? How can you say that little one? You are worth more than you will ever know. Do you know why? Because you are loved by God. He cares for you. You are precious in His sight. He knows the number of hairs on your head. He cares for you more than I do!”

I’m not sure where one of my kids even came across this language of unworthiness, but I was certain it did not come from God.  God cares for us deeply. God does the work in us that makes us worthy of His calling. When we draw closer to God we are motivated by our faith in God to do good deeds and we desire goodness in all things. 

We are worth so much because Jesus died and rose for us. We are worthy because He is worthy. We get to be a part of the family of God and answer the call of God on our lives because Jesus made a way. 

May you not fall into the trap of thinking you are not worthy.  You absolutely are. More than you will ever know!
