Be Awed

Ezekiel 1:22-28
Laura doesn’t remember when the dream of seeing Mount Kilimanjaro was born. It seems as if it was always there. She often imagined the wonder of standing under a tree in Africa while gazing up at the shining mountain. It was during a trip that the dream came true. The driver called out to them that the top of the mountain was visible. She turned to stare out the opposite window. Her husband spoke gentle words of correction. She responded that she wasn’t ready to see the mountain yet. It was overwhelming that a decades-long dream was now coming true.
What Laura felt was merely a fraction of Ezekiel’s experience. She was overwhelmed by seeing a created object; Ezekiel was overwhelmed by seeing the Creator. How could any human remain standing under the weight of His glory?
The need to be open to the wonder of the power and presence of God is often ignored. Being in His presence is not for entertainment but it can be enlightenment. Take time to be awed by God today.
