Get Rich Quick

Proverbs 10:1-9
The resounding gong of infomercials proclaiming the possibility of getting rich can be appealing: to partake and finally take a load off and rest. Get-rich-quick ideas provide the fantasy that the easy way is the right way. The road less traveled, however, is paved with integrity, honor, and faithfulness.
The Christian life takes time to mature. The path toward maturity is filled with setbacks, sufferings, brokenness, and pain. In this life we will suffer, but in this turmoil, our relationship with Christ can grow. At times, our relationship with Christ grows quickly. At other times, we have setbacks that leave us stagnant in our faith.
When we are in a “dark night of the soul,” the way through the struggle is vulnerability. The ability to share the lived experience assists in the faith journey for both speaker and listener. Lasting value increases as we share the journey with others. The good and the challenging are opportunities for others to grow as well.
