God Will Show You

January 16th, 2023

1 Samuel 16:1-5

When I ask my kids if they want to go somewhere with me, they have a hundred questions: Where are we going? How long will it take to get there? What are we going to do? Who is going to be there? What will we eat?

My dog, however, will jump in the car any chance he gets without hesitation! He trusts wholeheartedly that wherever I take him will be a good time. I’ll take good care of him. I have a plan, and I will feed him good food. His total trust in me feels so loving. When our Heavenly Father asks us to go somewhere, do we respond more like my children with hesitation and a list of questions, or more like my dog with excitement and blind faith?

Samuel agreed to participate in this mission for the Lord without knowing exactly what would happen when he got there or how he would know what to do. The Lord said, “I will show you what to do”(v. 3). The Lord can use each of us to accomplish His will if we are willing to go on the mission without hesitation and fully trusting God.
