People Always

1 Timothy 2:1-7
At a previous job we had a saying, “mission first, people always.” This saying has been adopted by countless organizations worldwide now. It has quite a bit in common with 1 Timothy 2. The mission in our lives as Christians is all about people and them coming to know the truth found in Jesus. If we are focused on the mission then we are focused on people. All people. The mission of Jesus was for all people as Paul writes in verse five, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus” (v. 5).
Christ’s mission was as the mediator for everyone. If all people matter to Christ, and He willingly gave himself as a ransom for all people, then the mission of Christ’s people—Christians—is to be about all people.
Who is someone in your life right now that needs to know the truth about Jesus? As you pray today think about that word, “everyone” and then pray for every-one.
