Be Patient And Wait On God

Psalm 37:1-9

I was shopping for a new book and discovered I did not have enough money to buy it. Pouting, I said to God, “Why have you brought me to serve here in this little church? I’m not asking for much. I just want enough money to buy books.” God told me to look on the bookshelf in the church clothing closet. There on the shelf was the book I wanted to buy. I began to cry and feel guilty for my pettiness.

I felt God’s presence come around me as He revealed to me the real reason I was frustrated. In my ministry, I had been doing lots of sowing and weeding, but had yet to see fruit. I was frustrated with how slow the work was and wanted my life to look a certain way in order to feel successful. God reminded: “my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways” (v. 8).

God reminds us that while His plans may not seem to make sense and may seem like failure, His ways are always better.

Yes, amen! His plans are always better. Even when we don’t feel or see him working, trust He is always working, like the faithful Father that he is. When you don’t feel God, KNOW God. He is the Great I AM. Exodus 3:14 The same God who looked after Moses, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, and Joseph is the great I AM who is looking out for you today. Don’t ever doubt that. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever more! Hebrews 13:8. Amen!
