The Seeking and Welcoming Kingdom
August 14th, 2022
Psalm 102:18-28
Were we to take a trip to Jerusalem we would find visitors from all over the world. The psalmist saw a day “when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the Lord.” Revelation 7:9 describes “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language” worshipping God before His throne in heaven.”
It seems that the Lord must really love everyone. It doesn’t matter their nation of origin, skin color, or language. All who have been redeemed through Christ’s blood are invited into the kingdom of God. Since this is so, we need to be a welcoming body of believers.
More than being a friendly church, we need to be a seeking church. The psalmist encourages: “Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord” (Psalm 102:18). We need to seek those of a new generation, along with all those who have never heard the good news of God’s loving grace.
I am glad Jesus cares for everyone. Aren’t you glad that God sought you and welcomed you into His family? Let’s do the same.
