Live In Freedom
May 20th, 2022
2 Corinthians 3:7-18
There are times where it feels like the Christian faith is one of prohibitions. So often we focus on what we can’t do, or what we lose, with a great rigidity. This hyper-focus often extends to others as well, what they can’t do or shouldn’t do. It becomes a burdensome legalism for all of us, that almost always leads to fear.
When we make a mistake, we are afraid of what might happen. We are afraid of the consequences of our sin, and in turn we often become afraid of God.
2 Corinthians is clear that this is not how Christians are meant to live. We are not meant to constantly be in a state of fear, but rather to live a life of freedom.
We are transformed, by the presence of the Holy Spirit, not by our constant worrying that we are doing everything the exact right way.
The Holy Spirit will guide us and mold us to be transformed more and more into the image of God, when we surrender to that work. We can live in freedom.
