Where Is God?

Psalm 42:1-5
As we mature in our faith, we experience seasons for growth. These valleys of dark shadows are lean times where problems seem to outnumber solutions. During times of personal lament, we may experience loneliness, heartache, or defeat. We literally cry out to God when no one else is around. Do you ever ask, “where is God”? Theologically we know God is with us, but heaven’s “silence” tests our faith.
I have read social media posts from people of all ages. Most of the time posts are sweet, but then there is the rant. When someone is ranting, the words are inflammatory and harsh. It does not take a genius to figure out the person ranting is simply crying out for help.
As a child of God, it is okay to cry out to Him. Crying out to God is so much better than seeing how many likes we get on social media! We may freely express our frustrations, knowing that God is with us no matter how severe the pain. When you find that life brings a bitter sting, and the valley has many dark shadows, speak to the Lord with your lament.

Amen! This reminds me of when Job questioned God. But in chapter 28 he states that God’s wisdom is only understood by Him: “God understands the way to it, and he knows its place. For he looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.” Job 28:23-24 Let us always trust in God’s infinite wisdom, perspective, guidance, and direction. Glory to His Name!
