You Are Our Only Hope
December 19th, 2021
Romans 5:15-21
We all faced an extremely difficult year in 2020. Some had more hardships to walk through than others, but the entire world faced a pandemic like hadn’t been seen in over 100 years. One single source, a virus, spread and created even more hardships. We were a world in need of hope.
In his letter to the church in Rome, Paul set out an intricate synopsis of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A theological primer, the Roman Christians could refer to Paul’s letter for questions they had—-as they were a diverse group with many differing backgrounds. When Paul writes about the plight humanity faces, he pinpoints one source, sin. And of that source, he narrows that to Adam. If one thing can spread to all of humanity, creating a pandemic of the ultimate level, where is our hope?
Our hope is also narrowed down to one source: Jesus. How much more abundant is our hope found in Jesus than the pain and suffering of sin! Place your hope in the One source of life and love.
