Genesis 27:42-46
Rebekah knows her husband is going to die soon. When he dies, her oldest son plans to kill the youngest. What can she do? She chooses the path of sacrifice. She asks Jacob to escape to her family in Harran. Sometimes, for whatever reason, life doesn’t always turn out like we had hoped it would.
Throughout the story of Jacob and Esau, we can see the result of their choices. I am sure neither of them, as well as Rebekah, thought their life would take the direction that it did. Whether by our own selfish choices, or no fault of our own, sometimes life takes unexpected twists and turns.
The good news is that despite the circumstance we face, when life happens, God is there, offering His forgiveness, grace, love, and presence.
