Galatians 5:16-26
I think most people have a store that if visited, making a purchase is almost guaranteed. The only sure-fire way to keep your money in your pocket when shopping these venues is to not visit them in the first place. A sure way to defeat temptation is to avoid it whenever possible. It’s a simple solution to a complex problem that we’ve heard our entire life.
Paul included this reminder that the only way to resist desires of the flesh was to walk by the Spirit in his letter to the Galatians on purpose. No matter how many years young one may be, temptation can quickly lead to sin. All sin separates us from God. Never once are we asked to solve this tangled equation on our own. The work Christ did on the cross never expires. It’s good for eternity. Daily, we can call on His name to resist temptation and avoid sin of all sorts. From cupcakes to power tools, to forgiving our neighbors, and loving the outcast, His blood will never lose its cleansing power.
