Transformed Through His Glory
June 2nd, 2021
2 Corinthians 3:7-18
Ever watch one of those movies where the main character makes a quick change or engages in a quick ritual that transforms them into something greater than they are? After the transformation they can fight crime, rescue troubled souls, and otherwise make their corner of humanity a better place.
As Christ-followers, we too are being transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are the main characters in the greatest story ever told—God’s story. The creation account in Genesis says that each of us are made in the image of our creator. When we accept the gift that Christ gave us through the cross and resurrection, our transformation to be like the Father begins. In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul says that this change occurs with God’s “ever-increasing glory” and that those of us who have “unveiled faces” are able to reflect that glory (v. 18). Therefore, because of that power at work in our lives we too can love the unlovable, meet the needs of troubled souls, and otherwise make our corner of humanity a better place.
