Acts 16:25-34

Paul and Silas were not superheroes. These men of God were being punished for sharing the gospel. They were not in prison for taking a life, or stealing, or some crime that one should serve time in prison. Paul and Silas saw this prison as a place they could witness to others about Christ. These men were a captive audience. These prisoners needed to hear about the love of Jesus.

The jailor also needed to hear from the Lord. Everyone needs to hear about Jesus. Everyone needs to have the opportunity to hear the Word of God. After the singing and praying an earthquake happens, the jail is shaken. The jailor panics as his life is on the line if the prisoners escape. The call comes back from Paul, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” (Acts 16:28) After this the jailor received Christ because of the witness of two men in a prison.

There may be someone in your life going through troubles that may be leading them to salvation by faith because of your witness. Look around you as see who needs to hear from you today.
