Acts 7:44-56
If you’ve ever taken a road trip through a small town, there’s a good chance you were greeted by a sign with the name of the town on it. It may have been a simple, wooden sign or an elaborate monument made of bricks. It could have been adorned with finely crafted letters or peeling paint. Whether well-made or rugged, its purpose was to proclaim the existence of that town.
All of creation declares God’s glory. We too are to declare God’s majesty and glory. We are God’s ambassadors, advertising His goodness to others. Go read Acts 7 aloud. Think about each word as you say it. You are a proclamation of His glory! Others get their ideas about our Savior from you!
What does your sign look like? Is it weathered from years of following Christ, needing a fresh coat of spiritual paint? Has worldly grass grown up around it making it hard to see? Whatever the condition of your sign, it’s your proclamation of God’s glory. Does it invite others to want to know God as well?
