Prayer Power

John 17:1-10
The weekend Andrea’s husband was to fill his first pulpit outside of their own church Andrea got sick. While the ailment was common, her being sick wasn’t. After much worrying, she had a bit of a revelation. She had decided that she wasn’t going to let the enemy keep her from supporting her husband. So, she did something that was uncommon for her—she actively sought out the prayers of others. She asked a small group of friends to pray rather specifically and they did! God honored those prayers and allowed her the privilege of sitting on the front row of that little church as her husband preached the next morning.
In John 17 we listen in as Jesus prays for you and me. I would like to think that His pastoral prayer covered everything that would matter to us personally. You see, Jesus knew that His sacrifice wasn’t just for those who walked the earth at the same time as Him. He knew it was for everyone, even those yet to come. So, before He left, our High Priest talked to God about us! It’s just yet another beautiful expression of God’s love for us.
