Let’s Celebrate!

Psalm 145:1-13
People love to celebrate. Whether it is a birthday, co-worker’s retirement, national holiday, or sports team victory, people love celebrations.
In Psalm 145, David praises the mighty acts of God. He says the people will praise, commend, tell, speak, celebrate, and joyfully sing of who God is and what He has done. David lists all those things worth celebrating–God’s power, goodness, righteousness, compassion, slowness to anger, mighty acts, faithfulness, trustworthiness, love, and everlasting kingdom.
If you visit the card section of any store, you can find a card for every occasion. We celebrate achievements, new chapters in a person’s life, and big purchases such as a home or car. However, David gives us a real reason to celebrate: the mighty God of the universe.
Today, think about who God is and how He has worked in your life and in the life of others. May today, we celebrate the great God we serve.
