Father And Judge

Ephesians 2:1-10
How scary would it be if there was no punishment for wrongdoing? What if no police, courts, jails, or system of correction existed? There would be no justice.
God is both Father and Judge. In a sin-soaked world like ours, punishment for sin must be made. He has clearly acknowledged that there is a steep price to be paid for the sins of His children. God our judge has already pronounced the death penalty for the sin of humanity. The wages of sin is death.
Yet, because of His great love for us, God paid the price for our sin. He died on the cross and took our punishment upon himself. His blood became our atonement. As righteous Judge He refused to simply turn a blind eye to sin and death. As loving Father He took the curse of death upon His own body.
What an amazing God we have! Give Him thanks for His perfect justice and mercy.
