Praise Belongs to God

Psalm 118:19-29
I learned recently that the word “salvation” actually has several meanings. Of course, it refers to Jesus’ death and resurrection but it also means being set free from a certain kind of oppression or imprisonment. Less commonly known, “salvation” can refer to health. As a people of God, we have so many reasons to give God thanks. God has freed us from the slavery of sin, and He provides for our basic needs.
Our work as ambassadors of God’s love in the world can make a difference in the lives of those around us. The natural outflow of recognizing the many ways in which God saves us comes in the form of praise.
Sometimes it may seem that God does not hear the cries of our hearts. Scripture reminds us that He does listen, and always responds in a way that will bring glory to His name. God will never demand a “thank you” but be assured that your praise brings Him joy.
