Jeremiah 18:1-12

Several years ago, my boss handed me a book, asked me to read it, follow the instructions, and then attend a seminar. Little did I know that the book would become part of my daily language, teaching, coaching, and mentoring.

I find myself consistently drawn back to this particular assessment because the philosophy and teaching hones in on the amazing way in which we are created. Many assessments of personality draw our attention to our weaknesses, and point to fixing those weaknesses. Just to be clear, this is not to say we should ever quit moving toward strengthening ourselves, but we should also be learning to love, value, and appreciate our unique design.

The prophet offers hopeful imagery regarding the work of the Creator when he writes, “so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.” How amazing would it be if we could look at our unique design and believe that the Creator has already given us everything we need to continue to be shaped and formed into the best version of ourselves.
