Lacy and Pearls

1 Peter 3:1-7
I remember the day I found out I was having a girl. I had big plans for a little girl. There would be pretty dresses, braids, doll houses, and princesses. We would have such fun together
As much fun as I have dressing up and playing with my real live “baby doll” those things are only external. While it’s important that she’s presentable on the outside, it’s more important that she’s presentable on the inside. I want her to be a lady, full of grace and charm that she freely shares with others. I want her words and her actions to be sweet.
Likewise, God has the same wish for each of us. 1 Peter 3:4 states that our adornment shouldn’t be of a worldly design, “Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
Lace and pearls are nice but my ultimate desire for my little lady is to be Christ like. Our Heavenly Father desires the same for each and every one of us as well.
