Prayer Warrior

Psalm 80:1-7
My grandfather was a prayer warrior. Every time he escorted us to the door, he included, “Now remember, I am praying for you.” I now understand that others were praying for me as well. The difference? No one reminded me like Grandpa.
I cannot say I fully understand prayer. However, at this stage in my walk with God, I feel like I have gained at least some insight into the significance of a prayer life that draws you to God. You see, I do not believe that God has to be convinced, coerced, or persuaded. However, if you look at the life of a prayer warrior, it may appear that we believe that we need to stay on our knees—begging for what we believe is important.
Instead, I believe it has more to do with our need to remember. We are a forgetting people who must daily find ourselves talking to God about the passions God awakens in us. For my grandfather, it was his family, friends, and coworkers who did not know Jesus. His time on his knees kept his memory attuned to lost and broken people.
Have you been reminded in prayer today?

Thank you for your devotions. They have spoken to me – both the words and the chapter references as they stand. God has this.
