God Gave Us A Responsibility

Psalm 103:1-12

A five-month old baby sat in his car seat on a sanctuary chair while the worship music roared. All voices sang loud “Hallelujahs” with hands raised giving glory to God. Everyone was on their feet, focused only on the Living God. No one seemed to notice this infant with hands raised to God, joining in the mighty chorus.

At times we might feel small in the Kingdom of God like this tiny baby no one seemed to notice. Psalm 8:2 valiantly declares a stronghold against the enemy is made through the praise of infants and children. If an infant has that kind of power over the enemy, imagine what our praise to God does! Out of our sinful lowly estate, God has crowned us as righteous rulers on earth to care for it diligently. Our position in the Kingdom of God has always been one of servanthood: feeding the hungry, seeking the lost, healing the brokenhearted. Even when we think no one sees us, God sees us. What we do with this responsibility matters.
