Live Wisely

Ephesians 5:3-17
A farmer’s alarm clock stopped working and he woke up late. He jumped out of bed and ran all over the house yelling, “Get up, it’s later than it has ever been before!”
The apostle Paul is saying something similar to the Church in Ephesus. He says that it is later than it has ever been according to God’s eternal clock. Don’t waste the precious time that God has given you. Be effective stewards of your time, making the most of every opportunity. There is a sense of urgency in Paul’s writing. We have work to do. Don’t wait. Don’t procrastinate. Don’t give in to the evil world that is full of distractions. Live wisely.
Moses said, “Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). Our time is short. James says it is like a vapor. Time is God’s commodity, a resource that can be wasted or spent wisely. Let us each redeem every moment of opportunity while there’s still time! What time is it?
