Joy Through It All
March 27th, 2019
Romans 12:9-21
Joy is a way of life, faithfulness works itself out in all we do. Our patience is something that carries us through times of hardship. We do not expect God to act now, to relieve our pain, sorrow, or suffering instantaneously. We are patient, knowing although it is dark, the sun will come with the dawn. We rejoice now knowing even when life is at its darkest, the darkness does not reign; it will not have the final word, the light will come. God is there in the day when there is plenty and joy comes easily. God is there when our lives are barren, the darkness is thick, and we are surrounded on all sides by that which threatens to destroy us. Joy does not always come easy, patience seems hard to hold onto, and prayer becomes difficult. Through it all we cling to what is good. We cling to God, blessing where others curse, loving in the face of hate, and trusting God through it all.
