My Savior’s Love for Me
July 23rd, 2018
Jeremiah 31:1-9
Every parent knows the feeling of holding a child in their arms or kneeling beside her bed at night and being so utterly overwhelmed with love for her that they feel their heart could burst. Each time I hold one of my grandsons tight I am reminded that there is nothing that could ever take that love away from me. They may disappoint me, disobey me, or even rebel. But nothing they do ever causes that love to waver. God says, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!” (Jer. 31:3, TM).
Jeremiah reminds us that we serve a God who is forever in love with His children. There is nothing you can do today to cause him to love you more and there is nothing you can do today to cause Him to love you less. He simply loves you. It is his nature. He does not just give love; He is love! Be reminded today that God watches over you like a parent watches with great love over his child. He pursues you even when you fail to pursue Him.
