Go And Tell

John 20:11-18
Death has been defeated! Jesus Christ is risen!
Mary experienced the risen Christ and all she could do was “cling” to Him. The fear, the desperation, the hopelessness and doubt all were gone. Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was alive and before her! Her joy was not something to hoard and keep inside. Joy like this is meant to be shared and given to others. So when Jesus says, “Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God’” she knew what she had to do (v. 17). Go and tell.
Resurrection must be experienced and once it is experienced there is no other choice than to share the good news of living, breathing flesh where once there was only decay and rot. “Go and tell” has become our instruction from the risen Christ, but first you and I need to experience resurrection. When you do, then you too will go!
