Assurance In Authority

Matthew 28:1-10; 16-20
“The task ahead of you is never as great as the power behind you!” Rick Pearson, director of Camp Table Rock in Shell Knob, Missouri, proclaimed this message to hundreds of teenagers one summer. He stressed that an understanding of the authority of Jesus Christ is essential to our evangelism and ability to be a godly leader.
Truly believing that Jesus has the authority to heal chronic physical illnesses and life-entangling addictions dramatically changes the way we pray for people. Knowing Jesus’ authority over our situation changes the way we view being persecuted or looked down on because of our faith. We can make bold steps in proclaiming freedom to those who desperately need hope, knowing that Jesus’ authority covers every sin or demon that we might ever face.
Jesus said that all authority had been given to Him. There is nothing we can come up against that Jesus does not know about or know how to overcome. This same Jesus promises to be with us always.
