Overcoming Every Hindrance

Deuteronomy 7:12-26
Maintaining an old car can be a serious test of one’s patience. One part is replaced and then another. Just when things are starting to run smoothly, another part breaks down. If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
As God prepared His people to enter the Promised Land, He warned them that they would face many challenges. There would be powerful enemies. There would be foreign gods. There would be the lure of silver and gold. It would be one thing after another. As they faced these temptations, they were to have nothing to do with any of them; instead, these temptations were to be completely destroyed.
If they were relying on their own strength, they would surely fail. God reminded them that through His power, little by little, the way would be opened for them. They would do what seemed impossible.
Is there anything in your life that could be a danger to your relationship with the Lord? Is there anything that needs to be removed? God is still in the business of helping His people overcome the things that hinder. He is all-powerful.
