Ruth 2:1-13
How often do we think of our labors in the kingdom of God as being richly rewarded? Sometimes we begin to believe that God’s plan for us is to be like Ruth gleaning in the fields to provide for Naomi and herself. We feel we are following far behind God, gleaning only spiritual “leftovers” passed over by others who are more fortunate than we are.
Even worse, we still see Jesus as the suffering servant who was crucified, died, and buried. But, wait! He has risen and now He is the conquering King.
Let’s take a look at what the apostle Paul said about Jesus: “Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
Jesus came from heaven to earth to give everyone who believes in Him eternal life. Jesus is our Redeemer. We have been freed from the bondage of sin.
