You Just Know It

Job 19:21-29
Do you remember memorizing your multiplication tables in the days before math became so complicated? It took time and practice. The easiest part for me was memorizing the fives: 5 times 1 equals 5, 5 times 2 equals 10, and so on. It came so easily. Pretty soon, it was rote memory. I didn’t even have to think about it when giving an answer. I just knew it.
Job 19 tells of Job’s many experiences and of the horrific things he had to face. Yet, in the middle of the passage, Job says: “I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth” (v. 25). Job knew in his heart of hearts that he served a living God and redeemer. Nothing would persuade him differently.
For us, that kind of faith takes knowing the Savior, spending time with Him, and allowing ourselves to trust Him with the most intimate details of our lives. That kind of faith gets deep down inside of us, it becomes part of who we are. Do you have the kind of deep, unshakable faith that your Redeemer lives? Nothing can separate you from your Redeemer.
