The Wedding Day

Titus 2:1-15
It was a wedding day straight out of a bridal magazine. The bride was perfectly adorned with a dress fit for a princess. Friends and family surrounded the couple celebrating the joyous occasion. When the bride declared before her friends, family, and husband that she chose the man who stood before her to be her husband–forever–she made an eternal commitment.
We, the church, are the bride of Christ. We have been perfectly adorned with love, grace, and forgiveness, because of the faithfulness of King Jesus. However, even as the bride of Christ, we will be bombarded daily with worldly temptations to pull us away from our radical commitment to Christ. Still, take heart, we don’t have to face these temptations alone. As the bride of Christ, we have been given the empowering presence of the Spirit to enable us to overcome such worldly temptations, and we have also been given our fellow Christians to encourage and edify us on this great journey.
