Every Opportunity

Colossians 4:2-18

During their years of marriage and ministry together, Connie and Clark were always ready to make the most of every opportunity. They often talked about how they would love to do volunteer missions after Clark retired from being a pastor. These talks often included the countries England, France, and Switzerland.

So when the opportunity to become missionaries was extended a full six years away from retirement, what would they do? Especially when it involved going to the other side of the world–to the Philippines? Had God forgotten how old they were? Wouldn’t it make more sense to remain steady until retirement, and then pursue their original plan? They also had a new grandbaby they wanted to spoil, and aging parents who might require their care.

However, after much prayer, there was a tug in their hearts to make the most of this opportunity. They sold their home, said good-bye to a beloved church, precious children, and grandbaby. They began a journey with God that has blessed them with new relationships and opportunities beyond their understanding. You don’t want to miss out on the adventure God has for you!

Hello Connie, you do not know me but I worked on a few projects with your husband in the Phillipines. I finally made the connection from this post. I just wanted to thank you for your service in missions. Your ministry has more of an impact than you would realize and I wanted you specifically to know it is greatly appreciated. God bless you both. Laura
