Bound To God In Christ

Romans 8:31-39
Many Christians before and many after us reference our standing in Christ due to His love for us. If you go to the boundaries of the list of polar opposite realities paired up by Paul in Romans 8:35 you will not find the love God contradicted or beaten.
Living in the reality of Christ’s love is not a given, however. We tend to let so much knock us off the path. It is hard to get our minds around the feeling of being a super-victor. What does “more than conquerors” mean anyway?
Our struggle is a time focus problem. Life must converge on God’s act in Christ, not the present state of affairs in which we find ourselves. If your loved one is sick, you want them to get well. But come death or life, you are still the object of God’s love as expressed in Christ’s sacrificial death. You might worry about how something is going to work out, or fear what may come, but regardless of how it wraps up, the love of God in Christ Jesus cannot be rescinded or reversed. Live like you are attached; bound to God through Christ.
