Mark 15:42—16:8

Many parents know the feeling of panic when their child disappears in a public place. Our friendly and helpful son, Nathan, frequently ran off. Most often, I’d find him talking with or helping either an elderly person or a young child.

The three women in Mark 16 who arrived at Jesus’ tomb no doubt experienced a similar fear. They expected to anoint Christ’s body with spices. They wondered how to remove the large stone. When they arrived at the tomb, they saw the huge stone rolled away. Looking inside, fear seized them. What happened to Jesus and who is this young man in white?

It was an angel who told them not to fear because Christ arose. He showed them where the Savior once laid. He then commanded them to tell the disciples the good news.

We serve a risen Savior. Fear not! Fear not what the future holds. Fear not when you speak to your neighbor, friend, or acquaintances about Him. Fear not for He lives!

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
