Ready To Help

Acts 26:9-23
We have a saying in our home: “If someone needs help, we help them.” There’s no catch or hoops for one to jump through to get our assistance. Helping is what one does when one hasn’t always been in a position to be so generous. If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of cooked meal, a cash gift, or a ride when the car won’t start, you know this truth all too well. It makes sense that once you’re back on your feet, you’re in a position to extend that grace to others.
Jesus came to offer the ultimate message of help through His holy brand of love, peace, and hope. It’s not just for those good enough to earn His favor. Jesus won’t make us get down on our knees and beg for it. Thankfully, He won’t make us say the perfect prayer or complete 15 tasks on a checklist before we’re “heaven ready.” Help like this doesn’t come with strings attached.
The message of light, as Acts 26 mentions, is offered to us because we need help, and Jesus is more than happy to give it.
