The Battle Belongs To The Lord

Isaiah 13:1-13
Can God be trusted to deliver His people from their enemies? The answer is a resounding “Yes!” We want justice, we want vengeance, and until we see people get “what they deserve,” we don’t want to let our grievances go.
This battle belongs to God. He will declare it, He will instigate it, and He will muster His army for battle. What do we do, then? We lift up the banner. Almighty God is the source of all of our victory. He will fight for us, now and on the day of the Lord. We need not fight our own battles–in fact, we must not! God’s wrath will perfectly execute His wrath with His characteristic justice. In the meantime, we are instructed, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord” (Romans 12:19).
My battle and your battle belong to the Lord; our assignment is to lift His banner. Proclaim His works on your behalf and in your life!
