Proverbs 24:1-12

Donna’s dad was a bivocational pastor. On Sunday he preached and on Monday practiced electrical contracting. He worked his way through college as both a plumber and carpenter. He had great understanding of the building trades so during the latter years of his ministry he served as a general contractor for a new church, which he pastored for a short time. That church stands today on Franklin Avenue in New Orleans, having survived, though tattered, the ravages and floods of hurricane Katrina.

Subsequent leaders and volunteer work teams have provided additional wisdom and good judgment to repair damage, to encourage the congregation, to keep the gospel at work and relevant–in spite of the changing neighborhood and building challenges. Future wisdom from godly women and men, and an understanding of God’s principles, will keep this congregation flourishing and reaching out in the Crescent City.

I need wisdom, insight, good judgment to build a life that will remain true, one that will give testimony to Him who is the author of wisdom and understanding.
